Fuzzy logic is recently getting increasing emphasis in soft computing applications in the recent days Development of high-performance control strategies for AC motor drives resulted in a rapid evolution. Today DTC uses hexagon flux path only when full voltage is required at high speeds. A novel approach of the fuzzy logic scheme for direct torque fuzzy control (DTFC) of an Induction Motor (IM) AC drive is the recent area of research. A novel approach in which DTFC is based on fuzzy logic technique switching table is described and compared with conventional direct torque control (DTC).
