Surgical strategies for the treatment of cervical spinal stenosis

ACDF and ACCF are surgical procedures for treating degenerative cervical disc disease and/or stenosis, acute cervical disc herniation, and cervical fracture-dislocation. Surgical intervention is indicated for decompression of the spinal cord and spinal roots in addition to spinal realignment and stabilization. Several studies suggest that early surgical decompression prevents deleterious secondary effects of early spinal cord injury and improves neurological outcomes.
