Renewable Energy Utilisation in Controlling Induction Motor Using Hysteresis Method

The induction motor drives are used extensively in several high performance applications, ranging from servos to traction drives, due to several distinct advantages such as high power density, high efficiency, large torque to inertia ratio, and simplicity in their control. In many applications, obtaining a low-frequency ripple-free torque and instantaneous torque and even flux control are of primary concern for IM motors with non sinusoidal back electromotive force (EMF). A great deal of study has been devoted to the hysteresis current control methods employed for IM motor drives. This paper suggests a speed control method of Induction Motor using hysteresis method. The multilevel inverter is used to compensate for the phase delay and also prevents multiple output transitions from noise or ripple in the terminal voltage. As there is any variation in the load, the current angle may differ. With the help of this phase angle difference the speed of the induction motor can be controlled by using hysteresis current controller. In this proposed system, the speed control of the Induction Motor is carried out by using the hysteresis method. The DSP controller is replaced by using FPGA controller that reduces the cost of the system. In this proposed system, the hysteresis current control method is used that improves the efficiency of the system. In this proposed system , the power supply to the induction motor can be produced from the renewable energy sources.
