Dynamic Profile Based Technique to Detect Flooding Attack in MANET

Sathish.T, Sasikala.E

A MANET is a category of wireless ad hoc network that can change locations and configure itself. These types of networks are without fixed infrastructure and are more prone to attacks that occur in the network. The main challenge in MANET is to design the robust security solution that can protect MANET from various routing attacks. Flooding attack is a kind of Denial of service (DOS) attack which is distributive in nature and can exhaust the victim’s network of resources such as bandwidth, energy, computing power etc. In this paper we developed a profile based technique which is used to detect and isolate the flooding attack on MANET using Adhoc on Demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol. A Simulation environment was created by java Simulator.
