Botany is a branch of systematic biology that studies the range and variety of organisms, as well as their interactions, as defined by their evolutionary history. Biological categorization is a type of taxonomy used in science. Carl Linnaeus' work, which categorised species based on similar physical traits, is the foundation of modern taxonomy.
